Terms of use.
Plain terms, in the same words we use everywhere else on this site. If anything here contradicts something we said in our marketing, this page is what we meant and the marketing is a mistake we will fix.
Using the map
The road health map is free to read, with no account and no app. You may link to it, screenshot it, and quote from it, including commercially, provided you say the data came from Tranna and that it is unverified. If you want a bulk export, write to us.
What the data is not
Road-health grades are derived from motion sensors in riders’ phones. Nothing on the map has been inspected on the ground by anybody. Detection currently catches somewhere between 10 and 20 percent of the hazards on a stretch we have covered, and coverage is a small part of one city.
Tranna does not recommend routes, does not tell you which road is safer, and is not a navigation service or an emergency service. Do not use it as one. Decisions about where and how to travel are yours, and you should make them the way you would if this map did not exist.
Your account
One account per person. You are responsible for what is published under your name in the community, and we remove posts that identify private individuals, name people as responsible for a road without evidence, or exist to sell something.
Your rides
By riding with the app running you give us permission to use those readings to derive road conditions and to publish the resulting road grades. You keep your data; you can have it deleted at any time. Deleting it does not remove road grades that other riders also contributed to, because those grades are no longer about you.
Coins
Coins convert at 10 coins to ₹1 and can be redeemed for the vouchers listed on the rewards page while stocks last. Coins are not money, cannot be transferred between accounts, cannot be withdrawn as cash, and expire if an account is closed. We may change earn rates and the voucher catalogue; we will not reduce a balance you have already earned.
Service and liability
We are a small team and this is early software. The app and the map may be unavailable, incomplete, or wrong. We provide both as they are, and our liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is nothing.
Changes
When we change these terms we will say what changed and when, on this page. We will not change them quietly.
Law
These terms are governed by Indian law, and disputes go to the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
