Our Story
Why we started.
We know these roads. But do we know that they are waiting for us to help them?
Different people, different walks of life, different stories, and always the same road. We have passed these roads so many times that we have them committed to memory — the potholes, the signals, the junctions. We have watched the same stretches fall apart every monsoon, get patched, reopen, and break again.
Two friends. We knew which junctions felt dangerous, which roads flooded, which turns made us slow down, and which stretches people quietly avoided. It didn't make a difference to us until it struck us.
It wasn't until Anirudh's uncle was in a devastating accident that we understood what it feels like to be the ones affected. A truck hit him broadside. He was a careful, responsible rider who never took unnecessary risks. In a matter of seconds, everything changed.
For days, we didn't want to leave our homes. Even years later, when someone we love leaves the house on a vehicle, we call. Then comes the waiting, until the call is answered.
That's when we understood something we had never really thought about before.
A road carries more than vehicles. It carries people someone is waiting for.
During covid, Anirudh lost his father. He couldn't breathe. An ambulance came, but the roads became part of the race against time, and help didn't reach the hospital in time.
We are not going to pretend that anything we build would have changed that day. It is why we cannot think about a road as a distance any more.
What happened to us isn't rare, and it isn't something that happens to other people somewhere far away. That's what made it harder to ignore.
Almost every one of us has our own story. A friend who crashed. A family member who never made it home on time. A junction everyone knows is dangerous. A road everyone avoids after dark. A stretch that becomes impossible every monsoon.
This is something we all understand. We talk about them. We warn each other, and then we keep driving. Because somehow, all of this knowledge stays scattered across millions of people and millions of rides.
It lives in conversations, in memories, in messages, and in someone's instinct to take the longer route.
And when that person stops sharing it, the knowledge disappears with them. That bothered us because the information already existed. No one was capturing it.
So we started listening. We started observing. We started putting the things people already knew into something that could be understood, shared, and acted upon.
Not because we believed we had all the answers. Because someone had to start turning what people live every day into something the world could actually use.
If we know a road is unsafe, people shouldn't have to find that out by getting hurt, and this is bigger than us.
We are not trying to build a world where accidents never happen. We are trying to build one where the knowledge that can help prevent them doesn't stay invisible.
Safer roads don't begin with better roads alone. They begin with a better understanding of the roads we already have.
"We are people who live in this same society. We use these roads. Our families use these roads, and like you, we want the people we love to come home."
This is us, and this is the story of Tranna.
