Privacy

Privacy policy.

Effective date: 5 October 2026

What we collect, what we do with it, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and what you can tell us to delete.

1. Introduction

At Tranna, we are committed to protecting your personal data and being transparent about how we collect, use and store your information. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the data we collect when you use the Tranna mobile application and website (the “Platform”). By using our Platform, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

2. Information we collect

Personal information

When you create an account and use the Platform, we may collect:

  • Full name
  • Phone number
  • Email address

Device information

We may collect information about the device you use to access the Platform, including:

  • Device model and manufacturer
  • Operating system and version

Driving data

To assess your driving behaviour and calculate rewards, we collect the following driving-related data:

  • Speed patterns and velocity changes
  • Trip duration and distance
  • Accelerometer and gyroscope sensor readings
  • Position readings taken while a ride is running: latitude, longitude, speed, the posted speed limit for that road, heading, position accuracy and a timestamp

Collection happens only while a ride is running, in the app, with your consent. There is no background collection when the app is closed, and we do not buy location data about you from anybody else.

Community posts

If you send a post from the website, we keep what you wrote together with the name, email address and account identifier of the Google account you signed in with, so an editor can read it and contact you about it. If it is published, it appears on the community page with your name on it. Your email address and account identifier are never published.

Location data
Position readings are kept for as long as your account exists, because they are what lets us re-derive a road’s condition when our detection improves. Your own rides are visible to you, signed in, and to nobody else. What we publish is roads: a public road line is pooled from many passes and carries no rider identifier, no trip identifier, no timestamp and no ordering, so an individual journey cannot be reconstructed from it. We publish roads, not journeys.

3. How we use data

The data we collect may be used to:

  • Calculate and maintain your safe driving score
  • Issue rewards, points and incentives based on driving performance
  • Improve our algorithms and the accuracy of driving analysis
  • Provide customer support and respond to enquiries
  • Send notifications about your account, rewards and Platform updates

4. Data security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard measures to protect it, including:

  • Encryption in transit between your device and our servers, and encryption at rest
  • Secure servers with regular security audits
  • Restricted access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
  • Regular monitoring for unauthorised access or vulnerabilities

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Your data may be shared with the following parties only when necessary for service delivery:

  • Reward partners — to facilitate the issuance and redemption of vouchers, discounts and promotional offers
  • Service providers — third-party providers who assist with hosting, analytics and infrastructure

All third-party partners are bound by data protection agreements and are required to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

6. Cookies and analytics on this website

This website uses three measurement tools, which set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser:

  • Google Analytics (Google) — which pages are visited, how people arrive and how they move through the site, in aggregate
  • Meta Pixel (Meta) — page visits, so we can measure and improve the reach of our posts and ads on Facebook and Instagram
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) — how pages are used, including clicks, scrolling and anonymised session replays, so we can find what is hard to use

None of them sets a cookie or tracks you unless you allow it.The first time you visit, a cookie banner asks. The Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity load only if you choose “Accept All”. Google Analytics is on every page, but until you choose “Accept All” it runs in Google’s consent mode: it sets no cookies, stores no identifier for you, and sends Google only a basic, cookieless signal that a page was viewed, which Google uses to estimate overall visit numbers. Choosing “Reject All”, or not answering, keeps it that way. You can change your answer at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page; withdrawing it removes these tools’ cookies from your browser. We ask again after a year.

When allowed, these tools receive your device and browser details, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and the pages you visit. They do not receive your ride data. The post composer and your own contribution page are masked from Clarity’s session replays. The website works fully whatever you choose.

7. User rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to deletion — you may request the deletion of your personal data from our systems
  • Right to update — you may update or correct your account information at any time
  • Right to withdraw consent — you may withdraw your consent for data collection, which may limit your ability to use certain features of the Platform

To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@tranna.in from the email address on your account.

8. Data retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services, fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, and comply with legal obligations. When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymised.

9. Children's privacy

The Tranna Platform is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a user under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

Tranna may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify riders through the Platform or at the email address associated with your account. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

11. Contact

If you have any questions, concerns or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, write to us at contact@tranna.in.
